What is Strongwoman?
Traditionally in the 19th Century Strongman/Woman referred to an
exhibitor of great strength at a fair or show. Today it has evolved into a world recognised strength sport where athletes compete in events exhibiting
great mental and physical strength combined with speed and endurance.
There are a wide variety of possible event combinations for any competition. The more common events in Strongwoman include the yoke, log press, deadlift, atlas stone loading and the famous truck pull.

Its an ideal part of a weight loss and fitness program as many of the exercises in strongman force the athlete to use most of the muscle groups
in his or her body at once for an extended duration.
The sport of strongman/Strongwoman boasts an
incredibly supportive lifting community.

A little bit about Kerryn!
My name is Kerryn Taylor and I am the founder & owner of KSS Personal Training and Co-Founder of Sisters in Strength Australia.
I began my own fitness journey in 2011 with the idea of getting a bikini fit body only to end up embarking on a journey into strength sports which completely changed my life!
I started competing in Strongwoman in 2016 and I have never looked back. I left my desk job in 2018 to pursue a career in Personal Training and subsequently began two businesses focused on women's health and mental fitness. KSS Personal Training is a boutique gym for women only and provides a safe space for women to learn to lift and exercise without the fear of intimidation, creating connection and community amongst women in the Geelong and surrounding areas. Sisters in Strength is an interactive, empowering, community focused physical workshop teaching the fundamentals of the sport of Strongwoman with an emphasis on connecting women in the local and surrounding areas, improving community engagement and increasing physical activity in women. We also incorporate teaching tools to improve mental well-being and encourage long term physical activity participation. We achieve this by inviting some of the most well renowned Strongwoman Athletes in Australia to attend, teach and share their stories at these workshops to show women that you can go through adversity and still achieve great things, improve your mental fitness and enjoy physical training.
I have competed nationally and internationally in both Strongwoman and Powerlifting, winning several titles and achieving feats of strength I never dreamed were possible including breaking three Australian Strongwoman Records.
I am incredibly passionate about women's health and helping women to find their voices and have spent the past decade working to inspire change and create pathways for women to find their power, explore what that looks like and break down the barriers of not being good enough for sport or exercise.
